RANAU: Five students, including a girl, from a secondary school here were detained for alleged involvement in a brawl which was captured on video.
The footage, believed to have been shot by the girl, has since gone viral on social media.
Ranau district police chief Deputy Superintendent Sammy Newton said a student had lodged a report on the incident at about 10.40pm yesterday.
All the suspects are 16-years-old.
"I have personally watched the video posted on social media which implicates the group of students involved in the fight.
"Police will probe the case. We urge the public to delete the footage and stop its circulation," he added.
The 15-second video shows a boy being beaten by others in a public area.
