NILAI: Police have detained four individuals including a woman to assist in the investigation into the death of an elderly couple believed to have been killed and their house burned down at Taman Desa Melati, here, yesterday.

District police chief Superintendent Mohd Nor Marzukee Besar said the suspects, aged 30 to 45, were detained at Nilai police headquarters when they came to give their statements.

"They were arrested between yesterday evening and this morning, following a police raid at several locations around the Klang Valley and Nilai.

"Police have also obtained a seven-day remand order - from today until August 1 - against the suspects from the Seremban Magistrate," he said in a statement today.

Mohd Nor said a post-mortem had been carried out at the Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital in Seremban, to determine the exact cause of death.

He said the case was investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
