ARAU: A father has been arrested for raping his disabled daughter and abetting his friend to rape her as well in two separate incidents in Kampung Baru Pauh, Arau in mid-May.
Perlis police chief Datuk Noor Mushar Mohd said the incident was told by the 28-year-old victim to her neighbour before both of them lodged a police report yesterday.
Noor Mushar said following the report, the 61-year-old father and his 53-year-old friend had been arrested and remanded for seven days beginning today.
“Based on the victim’s statement, her father raped her at their house in Kampung Baru Pauh at 8.30pm in May.
“Then in the same month, the father’s friend brought her to an orchard before raping here there,” he said when contacted by Harian Metro today.
“The victim did not know who she could tell on the matter, as she has learning disabilities and she can’t speak properly.
“Furthermore, her mother and younger sister also have disabilities, making it more difficult for the victim to come forward,” he said.
He said POL 59 (police form to request for a specific treatment at hospital) has been issued for the victim at Tuanku Fauziah Hospital in Kangar.
“An initial medical examination found an old tear in the victim’s hymen. The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code,” he said.
