KANGAR: A hostel warden, suspected of sodomising and molesting students at a tahfiz centre here, was arrested by police in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, early this morning.
Perlis police chief Datuk Noor Mushar Mohamad said the Perak police team picked up the 28-year-old man, a bachelor, at a tahfiz centre in Kampung Buaya Manora at 12.10am.
"The team also seized two mobile phones from him to assist investigation,"
Noor Mushar said upon questioning, the suspect admitted to committing the offences on at least five victims, aged between nine and 15.
"He will be remanded at the Kangar magistrate's court today," he said when contacted.
Yesterday, the media reported police were hunting down the man after one of the victims, a 15-year-old boy lodged a complaint with the tahfiz school on April 24, claiming he was sodomised and forced to carry out sexual acts in the warden’s room.
One of the teachers then lodged a police report at the Simpang Empat police station in Arau.
It was later found that he was suspected to have sodomised and molested at least five students at the tahfiz centre.
