PUTRAJAYA: Former Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor has been detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.

A source said Tengku Adnan was detained at about 3.15pm today upon his arrival at the MACC headquarters to have his statement recorded about City Hall land sales which took place when he was the Federal Territories Minister.

“When he arrived at the MACC, he was immediately detained,” said the source when contacted today.

It was learned that Tengku Adnan would be charged tomorrow in relation to cases of 97 dubious transactions involving 273.27ha of City Hall land worth RM5.63 billion.

Tengku Adnan arrived at the graft buster headquarters in a white Toyota Camry after he was given notice to make himself available at the MACC today.

In October, Tengku Adnan had admitted that he had been summoned by the MACC more than 12 times to facilitate investigation over the dubious land deals.

He was reported as saying that he had nothing to do with the approval of land deals between City Hall and private developers as he had handed the land back to Putrajaya.
