KULAI: A 32-year-old Bangladeshi man, who has been on the wanted list for prostituting his lover’s two daughters aged 10 and 13 last October, was arrested by police while trying to enter the country at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) last Sunday.

In November last year, the girls’ mother, 39, was sentenced to a total of 75 years jail by the Johor Baru Sessions Court after she pleaded guilty to 10 charges of prostituting the girls.

Kulai police chief Superintendent Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the police had never stopped looking for the suspect, and based on information from the immigration at KLIA, they managed to arrest the suspect when he tried to enter the country on his return from Bangladesh.

“The case involved two sisters who were prostituted by their mother. The mother was sentenced to 75 years jail while eight Bangladeshi men who were arrested were also charged in court,” said Dzulkhairi at a Press conference here.

He said police believed the suspect was working at a factory here before fleeing to Bangladesh, and he probably returned to work here.

Both victims identified the suspect at an identification parade, said Dzulkhairi.

“The suspect has been remanded until June 9 for further investigation and the case has been classified under Section 376/372 of the Penal Code for rape.”

On Oct 25 last year police received a complaint from a 13-year-old girl who claimed that she and her 10-year-old sister were exploited for sex by their own mother to several Bangladeshi men who were her acquaintances.

Subsequently, police arrested the mother and 16 Bangladeshi men before the woman and eight men were charged in court.

According to the facts, the two girls were forced to have sex with two Bangladeshi men in turn at a hotel room while being watched by the mother.

The woman was accused of prostituting the girls five times on Oct 1, 4, 5, 6 and 7 and receiving between RM1 and RM50 on each occasion.
