IPOH: A babysitter was charged in the Sessions Court here today with neglecting and abusing an 11-month-old baby girl.
Nor Aini Man, 48, pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to her before judge S. Indira Nehru.
Nor Aini was accused of committing the offence at a nursery in No.1800, Taman Samudera, Setiawan here between 9am and 6pm on Nov 26.
The charge, under Section 31 (1)(a) of the Child Act 2001, provides for imprisonment for up to 10 years, or a fine of not more than RM20,000, or both, if found guilty.
The court set bail at RM5,000 with one surety and fixed Dec 21 for mention.
The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Nor Hanizah Ghazali while Nor Aini was not represented.
