GEORGE TOWN: Three people were killed in a drive-by shooting along at the busy Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway in Penang today.
Three others were reportedly injured in the 7.30pm incident.
Initial reports indicate that the victims were in their cars when they were shot at by unidentified assailants.
Other reports suggest that a Datuk was among those shot.
One of those shot is said to be a senior employee with a utilities company.
It is learnt that a woman was also among those injured in the shooting.
Another person injured was RTM videographer Mohamad Amirul Amin, 28. He was shot in the left shoulder.
He was rushed to the Penang Hospital.
Northeast district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed the incident but did not give further details.
