PASIR MAS: Wan Adibah Farhani Wan Mazlan, who scored six As in the 2016 Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) in spite of suffering from Stage 4 intestinal cancer, died today at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital (HUSM) in Kubang Kerian.

The 12 year-old, who sat for the exam at her hospital bed in spite of tremendous pain, was one of only 3 students to score straight As at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultan Ibrahim 2, and one of only 320 straight A scorers in all of Kelantan.

According to her father, Wan Mazlan Wan Hassan, 50, his only daughter, who was also his youngest child, died at 4am today.

He said although his daughter was in pain throughout the examination, she stayed strong and succeeded in making her school proud with her outstanding UPSR results.

Wan Mazlan, who is also Senior Assistant 1 at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tengku Panglima Raja here, was thankful for the support given by all involved in his daughter's burial today at the Kampung Lemal Muslim cemetery.

Wan Adibah Farhani was admitted to HUSM on Sept 4 after suffering sudden weight and appetite loss. - BERNAMA
