KUALA LUMPUR: The short drama Kembara Si Kecil directed by Muhammad Firdhaus Rahmat won the top prize of RM10,000 at the Drama Festival KL here last night.

The event organised by TV3 and TV9 saw 5 five-minute dramas competing in the finals.

Selimut Jalanan directed by Shazreen Fazlynda Fazli Ku won the second prize of RM5,000 while Agus Suparman directed by Abustopa won the third prize of RM3,000.

The festival honoured talents in television dramas based on audience choices.

A total of 17 dramas from TV3 and TV9 were in the running for 8 categories in Anugerah DFKL - Choice Drama, Actor, Actress, Director, Screenwriter, Soundtrack, Antagonist and Couple.

The winners were Kau Aku Kita, Syarul Ridzwan, Janna Nick, Azman Yahya, Rehal Nuharis, Mungkin Kamu by Sissy Imann, Ruhainies, and Syarul and Janna respectively.

JS Pictures' romantic drama Kau Aku Kita swept most of the awards except Choice Soundtrack and Antagonist.

DFKL in its third year was held at the PWTC here.

The festival is aimed at bringing together local amateur and professional directors, scriptwriters, cinematographers, composers and actors. With the theme of Dunia Drama Sebenar (The Real World Of Drama), it was co-hosted by Amyra Rosli, Fattah Amin and Fizi of Hot FM.

The awards at 9pm also saw performances by the National Choir led by Syafinaz Selamat, a dance routine by Boojae and Floor Fever, as well as performances by Mentor Milenia winning protege Fareez Hazwan Fauzi and Akim And The Majistret.
