LENOVO has unveiled another way for users to enjoy multimedia on their smartphone through TheaterMax. Powered by Lenovo Virtual Reality (VR) technology, TheaterMax is touted to be able to convert any multimedia content to become VR-enabled, promising an immersive cinematic experience for users when viewed through a VR-headset.

Enhanced experience

TheaterMax allows users to explore, watch and interact with their smartphones in ways they would never have experienced before. Donning a VR headset gives users the enhanced experience of actually exploring their surroundings in any chosen video that has been VR-enabled.

Users can watch 3D movies in the comfort of their own home, or anywhere they choose to for that matter. According to Lenovo, the quality of visuals, as well as sounds coming from the dual front- facing speakers of both the VIBE and the K4 Note are excellent enough that users may feel they are in an actual cinema!

Not only can users watch videos and movies, they are also able to play games in 3D mode. Lenovo has a vast library of games and apps to cater to users who are interested.

Their latest smartphones

Together with the headset, Lenovo also introduced two of its latest smartphones with TheaterMax technology – the VIBE X3 and the K4 Note.

The VIBE X3 boasts an all-new Dolby ATMOS set of speakers. It is engineered with Lenovo Sound featuring high performance 32-bit mobile audio DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) to play any audio format, while ensuring ultralow distortion and supreme audio clarity.

The device also comes with advanced sound input and recording capabilities for those interested in producing their own digital content. Lenovo’s configured 3-microphone system and state-of-the-art Wolfson audio codec helps to effectively filter out ambient noise to enhance sound quality. It also has a 21MP PDAF rear camera with 4K Ultra HD video recording capabilities and an 8MP front camera to capture crisp images.

The phone features a 5.5 inch Full HD display with a 178° wide viewing angle, a high contrast level of 1500:1 and 16M colours with Lenovo Screen colour optimisation on a high resolution screen.

The VIBE X3 also comes with a 3,500mAh battery, 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor with 3GB of RAM, and has a 32 GB in-built storage capacity (expandable up to 128GB via microSD).

Also featuring a 5.5 inch Full HD display with a 178° wide viewing angle and 1080p clarity, together with colour optimisation, the Lenovo K4 Note is touted to deliver an uncompromised entertainment experience for streaming and watching video.

The smartphone has the same advanced sound input and recording capabilities as the VIBE X3 with twin front ported stereo speakers enabled by Dolby Atmos to help minimise noise and voice distortion when playing voice clips and songs. It also comes with a 13MP PDAF rear camera and a 5MP fixed-focused selfie camera, making it ideal for creative content producers.

The VIBE K4 Note has a 3,300mAh embedded battery, and comes with a 64-bit MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM. It also has a built-in storage of 16 GB (expandable up to 128GB via microSD).

The Lenovo VIBE X3 is available in Malaysia at RM1,899 in Pearl White. The pricing for the K4 Note model starts at RM999 in Matte White and Matte Black. The VR headset is sold separately at RM199 each and is also compatible with other android devices.
