TESLA Malaysia has sneaked in a treat for fans just in time for the festive season.

The electrifying Cybertruck is here in Malaysia and the public will soon get a chance to view it in the flesh.

No time frame was given when or where the extremely huge and durable electric truck (e-truck) will go on display, though selected participants have already been invited over to the Tesla Experience Centre in Cyberjaya to get a first-hand viewing of the electric truck.

Unfortunately, Tesla Malaysia cannot confirm if the model will ever be sold in Malaysia much like the Model X and S for the time being.

Based on the left-hand drive North America specification, the Cybertruck currently comes in two variants: an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) model and the Cyberbeast.

Both, and a yet-to-be revealed Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant share the same dimensions: length of 5,682 mm, width of 2,032 mm and a height of 1,791 mm. Ground clearance is 406mm.

The dual motor AWD variant with a retail price of US$79,990 (RM380,050) has a 600HP setup with a top speed of 180kph and 0-60 mph (0-100kph) at 4.1 seconds. It has a range of up to 547 km (EPA), maximum towing capacity of 4,989 kg and a maximum payload of 1,134kg.

The pricier Cyberbeast variant at US$99,990 (RM475,050) trades in some of the practicalities for power. It has a lower range at 515km and a max payload of 1,030kg, but a higher output at 845 HP, a top speed of 209 kph and 0-60 mph at 2.3 seconds.

Radical in its build and design, the Cybertruck was first unveiled to the world in 2019. It would take almost four years later in July 2023 before Tesla announced the first Cybertruck has been built at its Giga Texas plant.

The first batch of the e-truck was delivered in November that same year.
