LAMBORGHINI'S most electrifying model to date is finally in Malaysia.

Named after a famous Spanish fighting bull, the unveiling of the Revuelto is nothing short of historical and revolutionary for the House of the Raging Bull.

Marking the brand's 60th anniversary, it not only is the successor to the flagship Aventador, but is also the Italian luxury super car manufacturer's first super sports 6.5-litre V12 hybrid plug-in HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle) this year - the latter is also a personification of the namesake's alternative meaning that is 'scrambled' or 'mixed up'.

Paired to three electric motors (powered by a lithium-ion high specific power (4500 W/kg) battery pack alongside an eight-speed double-clutch transmission (DCT), the 12-cylinder Revuelto delivers a combined 1,015 CV (1,001hp) output and an optimal acceleration from zero to 100kph in only 2.5 seconds with a top speed of more than 350kph.

Electric torque vectoring is introduced for the first time to the brand thanks to the e-axle (inaugurating the Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo 2.0 system), and four-wheel drive that is also available in fully-electric drive mode.

Only two other V12 cars have been equipped with a transverse rear gearbox in the 60-year history of Lamborghini: the 1966 Miura and the Essenza SCV12.

The 725Nm produced by the internal combustion engine and 350Nm from each of the front electric motors boost power delivery at low revs and can also turn the Revuelto into a purely electric car.

This reduces the overall CO2 emissions by 30 per cent compared to the Aventador Ultimae.

The battery is 1,550mm long, 301mm high and 240mm wide and contains pouch cells with an overall capacity of 3.8kWh. It can be recharged using both ordinary domestic alternating and charging column current up to 7kW in power — a complete recharge is 30 minutes.

It can also be recharged under regenerative braking from the front wheels or directly from the V12 engine in six minutes.

The new hybrid powertrain makes it possible to maximise the electric motor support and introduce three driving modes (Recharge, Hybrid and Performance), and electric four-wheel drive for a total of 13 different driving experiences.

The Citt‡ (City), Strada, Sport and Corsa modes make their return. All the modes are selectable via the two rotors located on a redesigned steering wheel that is inspired by the racing world and the experience of the Essenza SCV12.

The car features the latest generation Carbon Ceramic Brakes Plus (CCB Plus), and premium high-performance Potenza Sport run-flat tyres or custom-designed Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 tyres winter use.

It gets its aerospace design inspirations from the 1971 Countach prototype, proportions of the Diablo, and the MurciÈlago. Front aerodynamic load has increased by 33 per cent and the rear load by 74 per cent compared to the Aventador Ultimae (under maximum load conditions).

There's a heavy emphasis on carbon fibre use (across the body, its frame and the roof) as well as sustainable elements - water-based paints rather than solvent-based options are used.

There are 400 bodywork colours offered together with many more personalisation options at the owner's disposal, giving it the most potential for personalisation.

Sustainability continues throughout the car's interior with the cabin being characterised by the presence of visible carbon fibre throughout, along a customisable interior.

Customers can opt for a balanced mix of leather and the new ultralight Corsa-Tex microfibre that is made of recycled polyester via a water-based production process, or simply favour one material, with 70 colour options available.

Its interior also offers a completely new Human Machine Interface (HMI) system consisting of three displays: a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and an 8.4-inch central display, in addition to a 9.1-inch display.

Amazon Alexa, integrated with What3Words functionality, is present and allows access to vehicle control functions such as climate, navigation and media via voice commands. These come in addition to standard Alexa functions relating to entertainment and the control of smart home devices.

The infotainment system can evolve over time with the integrated Over-the-Air software update system.

The Lamborghini Connect vehicle tracking system is able to detect unauthorised use of the car, notify the owner and communicate with a 24-hour security operation centre that will assist customers with vehicle recovery.

Using the Lamborghini Unica mobile application, the owner can constantly monitor the car's status, including the fuel level, battery charge, electric range and its exact position when parked.

The app also allows a series of remote operations, such as locking and unlocking doors, sounding the horn and activating the car's lights.

Another firsts for the brand is the implementation of a complete Advanced Driver Assistance System.

The Revuelto is said to be priced at RM2.5 million pre-tax and RM6.5 million after tax. Lamborghini says the model based on orders is currently sold out until 2025.
