BOON Siew Honda launched the new Honda Vario 125 at the second round of the Malaysian Cub Prix Championship in Jempol, Negri Sembilan, recently.

The arrival of the Vario 125 bridges the gap between the Beat and Vario 160 in the Honda scooter range. The Vario 125 offers sophisticated modern features that are found in premium scooters while remaining fairly affordable.

It is powered by the eSP (Enhanced Smart Power) four-stroke liquid-cooled 125cc engine and is capable of producing 8.55kW at 8,500rpm and 11.74N.m of torque at 5,000rpm.

The Honda SMART Key System is a first for a 125cc scooter. The system also includes an anti-theft alarm system.

In addition, an "answer back system" can easily locate the motorcycle and also when the immobiliser function is active.

The Vario 125 comes with an 18-litre underseat storage compartment, the largest in its category. Two glove compartments are situated either side in front of the riders' knees. The left side is equipped with a lid (non-lockable) while the right side can easily accommodate a drinks bottle.

Full LED lighting is standard on the Vario 125 and the meter panel is fully digital, providing all the necessary information at one glance.

Chassis-wise, the Vario 125 is fitted with wider tyre sizes of 100/80-14 at the rear and 90/80-14 at the front, mounted on the new cast wheel design.

The Vario 125 is priced at RM7,080 without road tax or insurance and is available in the three colour options of: red, blue and yellow.
