The Aston Martin DBX707 sports a sleeker design.

ASTON Martin's sport utility vehicle (SUV) has made an updated return and is now faster than ever before.

Following the performance boost to the DBX - the luxury sports carmaker's first SUV - the new DBX707 has a maximum speed of 310kph while being able to achieve the century sprint in a mere 3.3 seconds. This makes it the fastest SUV in the market currently.

With a total output of a class-leading 707PS and 900Nm of torque, the DBX707's powertrain surpasses its predecessor's by 157PS and 200Nm of torque.

It is paired to a new nine-speed wet-clutch transmission linked to an electronic limited slip rear differential (e-diff) and carbon ceramic brakes (CCB) to further strengthen the SUV, allowing it to handle the full 900Nm of torque.

Low gear acceleration is increased while retaining efficiency and cruising performance with a shorter final drive ratio of 3.27 compared to the DBX's 3.07.

The CCB rotors measuring 420mm in front and 390mm in the rear are gripped by six-piston calipers and contribute to an overall reduction of 40.5kg in unsprung weight.

The GT Sport and Sport+ driving modes now has the "Race Start" feature for an off-the-line acceleration to further underline its driver-focused credentials.

While torque can be distributed 100 per cent to the rear axle on demand, a revised active logic in the all-wheel drive transfer case enhances control between the driveline and electronic stability program system for a more natural sports car drive.

The DBX707 air suspension system features new damper valving with recalibrated dynamic spring volume matching for improved body control and electronic power steering response.

The latter has been optimised to offer better feedback for the driver to judge cornering loads and available grip with greater accuracy.

At the front is the reinvented larger front grille that's defined by six double-vaned horizontal bars and newly-designed daytime-running lights.

The combined modifications of new air intakes, brake cooling ducts and new front splitter profile help improve cooling airflow to maintain optimum performance.

Similarly, the rear end sports a new lip spoiler added to the roof wing to reduce lift and increase high-speed stability while the twin rear diffuser now rises to meet the new, large-diameter quad-exhaust system.

This new exhaust has been tuned to deliver a unique sound signature and comes finished in satin black to complement the gloss black treatment of the diffuser.

Inside, the cabin is decked with standard Sport seats, dark chrome switchgear, satin black appointments of the exterior, 12.3-inch TFT driver information display, 10.25-inch TFT central display, and Aston Martin Premium 14-speaker Audio System (800 watts).

Three interior themes are available to buyers, namely Accelerate, Inspire (Comfort), and Sport. All seat options come with 16-way electric adjustment plus heating as standard while Piano Black veneer is draped across the cabin as standard. Carbon fibre and bronze metal mesh finishes are available as an option.

Additionally, Q by Aston Martin offers bespoke personalisation services on top of the already wide range of options to choose from.

Its safety features include adaptive cruise control, speed limiter, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane change warning, rear cross traffic warning, traffic sign recognition, blind spot warning, door opening warning, emergency call (market specific), airbags (front, side and curtain), seatbelt pre-tensioners and status indicator, and ISOFIX child seat attachments (rear outer seats).

The DBX707 has a starting price of RM1.1 million, excluding duties, taxes, options and customisation.

It is offered with an optional extended warranty coverage of up to 20 years, as with every other model sold by Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur.
