KUALA LUMPUR: Aston Martin's DBX707 sport utility vehicle (SUV) is now officially open for booking in Malaysia.

The follow-up to the brand's first-ever SUV is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with a total output of a class-leading 707PS and 900Nm of torque.

The incorporation of ball bearing turbochargers and a bespoke engine calibration gives it a significant improvement over its predecessor by 157PS and 200Nm of torque.

"The DBX707 launches us to the pinnacle of one of the most hotly-contested segments in the luxury car market," said Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur general manager Kumara Sooriar Sivanasan.

"Having the most powerful SUV in the world in our stable of sports and supercars is the natural step forward for Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur, given our brand's history that is steeped in racing heritage and engineering of the highest order."

Aston Martin's powertrain engineering head Ralph Illenberger said the DBX707 engine's pairing to a new nine-speed wet-clutch transmission and carbon brakes enables the SUV to sprint from zero to 100kph in 3.3 seconds.

With a maximum speed of 310kph, it is the fastest SUV in the market.

"The huge gains we have found in power and torque demonstrates not only the inherent prowess of the 4.0-litre biturbo V8, but Aston Martin's appetite and ability for finding uncompromising engineering solutions," he added.

To further underline the driver-focused credentials of the DBX707, its GT Sport and Sport+ driving modes now feature the "Race Start" feature.

The DBX707 is available at a starting price of RM1.1 million, excluding duties, taxes, options and customisation.

As with every other model sold by Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur, the SUV is offered with an optional extended warranty coverage of up to 20 years.
