IF you're an avid social media user, you'd have come across the many "hate this" or "anti that" groups being shared to you by others.

Perhaps at the beginning it didn't look too bad, but when there starts being too many, it's inevitable that you begin wondering whether hating something really is the most effective way to resolve a problem. There's a fine line between focusing on the problem and finding the solution.

By focusing on things that we don't like, for example, drugs, even if we're dead against it, there'll still be more drug abuse. This is an idea proposed by the Law of Attraction proponents. It's more positive and liberating to focus on healthy living instead

Let's take how we deal with children as an example. If our kids like to run around the house dangerously, around the house, instead of asking them to stop running, we should propose walking safely instead. If the older ones tend to spend too much time on the PC, instead of saying "don't play games for too long", ask them to go read a book/play outside/take a nap instead.

The suggestions become more positive and actionable.

POSITIVE ACTION

Focusing on the solution is the opposite of complaining. It's a positive action. When one complains, the mind will focus on the problem. It might feel good to let it all out and blame everyone and everything else, but at the end of the day, no real action or solutions are found. The energy is very negative and gets drained unnecessarily.

Nobody likes to be around a complainer. Do you recall the last time you were subjected to a passionate session of complaining. When the other party was just intent on lamenting about everything that's wrong with the world? I'm sure that it was really unpleasant, to say the least.

Personally, I'd do my best to avoid that person the next time around.

Complaining is a symptom of someone who likes to focus on the problems. Letting it all out might feel good for a while, and it may even feel like we're sharing the burden with someone else. But if most of the words that come out are negative, then we've crossed the line.

By blaming everything and everyone, we're effectively absolving ourselves from responsibilities.

It's much better to switch the mind into "creative thinking" mode by focusing on finding the solution. It's a more positive energy. In your mind, channel the energy to brainstorm for all possible options. Eventually, the problem will be solved, or at least you'd be nearer to a solution, and you'd not have wasted any energy droning on and on.
