AS the majestic Year of the Dragon unfurls its wings, InterContinental Kuala Lumpur offers a culinary journey inspired by the mythical legend.

Whether you're hosting family reunions or New Year gatherings, the hotel promises a feast for the senses with a variety of delectable options ranging from wholesome set dinners to an auspicious buffet spread, all adorned with the traditional prosperity symbol - yee sang.

And in honour of the Year of the Wood Dragon, the hotel takes a fresh approach to traditional yee sang by introducing a unique vegetarian version.

The signature yee sang features dragon fruit, star jelly, and chia seeds, creating a vibrant and dragon-esque presentation that is both visually stunning and deliciously innovative.

Keeping in line with a focus on nutrition, the Renewal Set offers a selection of wholesome dishes such as "Lei Cha" fried rice with mixed vegetables, steamed fresh bean curd with edamame, plant-based minced meat and olive, and stir-fried mixed fungus with black truffle paste stuffed in a fortune money bag.

The celebratory offerings include Tao Chinese Cuisine's signature Roasted London Duck in three unique preparations: Yee Sang with Shredded Roasted London Duck, Kirin-style Roasted London Duck, and Grilled Boneless Chicken Roll with Spicy Sesame Sauce & Roasted London Duck.

A regal feast

You can choose from an array of six 8-course to 9-course set meals, crafted by Tao's head chef Tommy Choong.

According to the hotel, these sets blend honest Cantonese cuisine, premium quality ingredients, and modern innovation. Indulge in signature dishes like double-boiled chicken soup with Dendrobium orchid, Matsutake mushroom, and fish maw, steamed live dragon grouper with Wan fungus, Shimeji mushroom, and superior fish sauce, and Kirin-style roasted London duck.

To end the meal on a sweet note, savour the sticky, succulent steamed Nyonya "ninko" with shredded coconut.

The six available sets (for 10 people) include the Majestic set (RM2388+), Ethereal set (RM2888+ per), Legendary set (RM3688+), Renewal Set (RM1888+), Mystic Set (RM988+), and Radiance Set (RM1288+).
