This business hotel is clean and fuss-free and because there are not many hotels within its vicinity, it proves to be very popular among the locals for meetings and receptions, even weddings.
STAY
The room is clean and decent. It's not lavish or spacious but it's acceptable for a short business stay.
Honest, uncomplicated and comfortable, the hotel has 249 guest rooms including 12 executive suites-- and the latter are often booked way in advance by families or friends in bigger groups.
The Sheraton Comfort bed that comprises a plush mattress, crisp 250-thread-count sheet, a cosy duvet and down pillows, will ensure you of a good night's sleep at the end of a long work day.
There's also an LED flat screen TV and bottled water with tea and coffee making facilities.
EAT
This is the highest point of our one-night stay. On Friday nights, its all-day dining restaurant, The Eatery, serves an extensive buffet of local and international flavours.
From grilled meat to made-in-front-of-you stir-fried seafood, everything was tasty. The selection is small, but everything was on-point when it comes to taste.
I like it that the desserts come in mini versions-- little squares of cakes and tiny pastries-- so guests can enjoy a variety of sweets without feeling too full.
The buffet breakfast, the next morning, is just as good. It has a coffee machine that churns good quality coffee and pastries to start the day. You have your usual egg and noodle stations, salad bar and grains like breakfast cereal and muesli.
I feel, personally, that the buffet quality is on par with a 5-star hotel. The selection might be smaller, but the quality is there.
There's a bar with live music from 9am onwards and your playlist has any of these artistes-- Reo Speedwagon, Cliff Richard, M. Nasir--- and if you enjoy 80's slow music, the duo will take you down memory lane for some nostalgic vibe.
DO
You can go for a swim at the pool (it's a small, basic one) or work out at the gym. Otherwise, you can walk around the adjacent commercial area for some food or shopping.
