CHILDREN from low-income families were provided with free health check-ups recently by ParkCity Medical Centre (PMC) through its "Go the Extra Mile i-Kiddo Kids Mobile Clinic".

The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Village Grocer and Masjid Al-Iman Al Ghazali in Bandar Manjalara, Kepong.

Reaching out to vulnerable communities in the Kepong area, the PMC mobile clinic with its team of paediatricians, a paediatric ophthalmologist, nurses, and staff volunteers from both PMC and Masjid Al-Imam Al Ghazali, tended to children between the ages of 4 to 12 from Sept 26 to Oct 3.

Among the services provided were vision tests for children and health screenings.

Families also received goodies containing dairy products and other essentials from The Food Purveyor (which operates Village Grocer) under its CSR initiative called Smiles Programme that aims to support underserved and vulnerable communities in Malaysia.

PMC chief executive officer, Ch'ng Lin Ling, says the pandemic has elevated the importance of helping each other, especially harder-hit communities.

"With the support of our CSR partners and an altruistic team of healthcare professionals, we can do our part for the well-being of children in need, while contributing towards a healthier nation."
