KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran 1980s actor Dharma Harun Al-Rashid, 68, has urged the TV station which aired his Deko Ibadah programme two years ago to pay him what is due.

In an interview with Harian Metro yesterday Dharma said that the 13-episode programme made and screened two years ago was made possible by a grant from the National Film Development Corporation (Finas) and saw him help refurbish old mosques and suraus around the country.

"The TV station need not pay the full price for now, but since they promised to pay me, they must keep their word," said Dharma who heads WWS Studios.

According to Dharma, the TV station offered RM312,000 for Deko Ibadah.

The Deko Ibadah programme was popular with viewers and both Dharma and the station received good feedback from them.

Dharma is facing financial problems and has been unable to pay his landlord RM7,500 in accumulated rent for a year.

Persatuan Karayawan Malaysia, Pusat Zakat and Yayasan Budi have given him some financial assistance.
