KUALA LUMPUR: "I've never entertained married men who tried to get close to me as my children would never approve of such a relationship," says actress Norish Karman.
As such, she'd block the phone numbers belonging to married men who wanted to do so, according to a Harian Metro report yesterday.
She added: "On the other hand, if I were to remarry, they'd prefer if I looked for a single, younger man below 40."
Norish, 50, who has been a single mother for the past 13 years, added that she never remarried not because she's already given up hope, but rather because she has yet to meet the right candidate.
A single mother to eight children, including four siblings whom she adopted in June 2020, Norish is now busy running a catering business and involved in motivational programmes to provide for her big family.
"Many may not know about my adopted children, but I decided to adopt the four siblings who became homeless after their father died and their mother was sent to jail."
Norish's own children are Muhammad Haqiem Amany, 25, Muhammad Hady Amieran, 21, Nur Hanyz Amanda, 20, and Haq Alexander, 13.
Meanwhile, her household's new additions are Hasbi Fadullah, 13, Hasya Farahiya,11, Haziq Fadillah, 10, and Hazra Farisya, 5.
