KUALA LUMPUR: Veteran actor and film director AR Badul could not be bothered when some TikTok users called him an old actor without jobs just because he is active on the social media platform, which is usually associated with the younger generation.

In a recent news report, the 74-year-old artiste whose real name is Armaya Aman Ramlie said he is active on TikTok merely to interact with his fans.

"Most of my fans are those who are aged 40 and above. I had no intention of finding newer and younger fans when I set up my account. My fans are largely made up of those who grew up with my films since young," he shared.

Badul joined the bandwagon when another celebrity friend asked him to set up an account and the first video he uploaded garnered about 40,000 views.

"Then when I made that video dispelling the rumours of my alleged death, it clocked in more than 200,000 views," shared the veteran artiste who now has about 95,000 followers on TikTok.

"I'm grateful to have this many followers, considering my age."
