KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer Nadeera Zaini is marking Hari Raya 2024 with the launch of her latest single titled 'Udara'.
Having recently released a Raya-themed duet, 'Balik Raya', with Wani Kayrie and Indah Ruhaila Hussein, Nadeera has also recorded a "sad yet hopeful" song about loss and recovery written and composed by Omar K, Shazeriq Azeman and Iqie Hugh under the label of Rocketfuel Entertainment.
"I'm most honoured to record 'Udara' which is part of the soundtrack of a new drama series titled 'Framed' which will be out on May 3," said the 32-year-old artiste.
"It's a song about the loss of a loved one, and this ties in with the plot of 'Framed'. I hope music lovers will enjoy it."
Nadeera, who hails from Johor Baru, first found fame as the protege of veteran singer Datuk Zainalabidin in Mentor Legend 2014.
She also participated in 'Vokal', 'Bukan Sekadar Rupa' in 2014 and 'Big Stage' in 2023, where she emerged as the overall winner.
Fans of local music began to notice her more after the singer came up with her first single 'Hasrat Hati' in 2015, followed by her second single 'Nyawa' in 2020.
She also has two more singles — 'Duka', a duet with Dany Seth in 2020 and 'Panah' which was released in 2021.
Since then, Nadeera has been building up the momentum of her career with more live shows and performances.
In October last year, she performed in Gegar Kembara Muzik Tradisional at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in Bangi, Selangor, alongside Shiha Zikir, Putera Muhammad, the Istana Budaya dancers and UKM's dikir barat ensemble.
In December last year, Nadeera participated in Konsert Patah Hati 2.0 at Zepp KL alongside Ernie Zakri, Syamel Fodzly, Aisha Retno, Naim Daniel, Ismail Izzani and Neeta Manis.
On National Day in Dataran Putra, Putrajaya last year, Nadeera sang the traditional song 'Kurik Kundi' made popular by Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, as a duet with Suki Low, Roshini Balachandran, Zizi Kirana and Hazraniza Dollah.
This year will be another busy one for the singer who intends to make the most out of her talents.
On March 7, Nadeera joined veteran singers Jay Jay and Rahmad of Mega, as well as Ernie in Voice Of The Heart, a charity concert in aid of Palestine, which took place at Zepp KL.
On May 11, Nadeera will join Siti, Dayang Nurfaizah, Masdo, Amelina, Noraniza Idris, XPDC, Sufian Suhaimi, Insomniacks, Aisha, Ronnie Hussein, Usop, Disko Santan, Lucidrari and Arish Mikael at the Loop Music Festival at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil.
The upcoming indoor music festival, organised by RJ Sales Sdn Bhd in collaboration with Air Asia and the Tune Group, will take place from 2pm to 11.30pm and is expected to draw over 11,000 music fans.
'Udara' is now available on iTunes and all music streaming applications including Joox, KKBox, Spotify, Deezer, YouTube Music and Apple Music.
