KUALA LUMPUR: Popular filmmaker David Teo revealed that he became seriously ill as a result of black magic six years ago.

The 60-year-old producer of films such as Jangan Pandang Belakang and Adnan Sempit said in a Harian Metro report yesterday that a relative harmed him with black magic and caused his blood pressure to skyrocket between midnight and sunrise.

"It all started after I attended my late father's funeral in Segamat, Johor. Two weeks later when I was back in KL I had frequent headaches which worsened in the evenings," he said.

"When I visited the doctor I learned that I was not suffering from high blood pressure. It was then that I realised I had been afflicted by black magic."

Teo visited an Ustaz who specialised in traditional medicine, and learned that he had indeed been harmed by black magic.

"The Ustaz told me who the culprit was. This person was a relative who 'sent' leeches into my bloodstream and made me sick."

Teo said that he was lucky to be alive and everything went back to normal after a month.

When asked about his coming projects, Teo who is the managing director of Metrowealth International Group (MIG) said that the sequel to Jangan Pandang Belakang directed by Pierre Andre would be screened in cinemas at the end of the year.

Jangan Pandang Belakang 2 will have a star-studded cast which includes Emma Maembong, Alif Hadi, Iedil Dzuhrie Alaudin and Cat Farish.
