KUALA LUMPUR: Host Amin Idris ended speculation on Irma Hasmie's marital status when he confirmed that the actress had divorced her husband six months ago.
The motivational speaker reposted an entry shared by Irma's best friend, Reen Emran, in an Instagram Story.
"Assalamualaikum, to answer the question of their (Irma and husband Redza Syah Azmeer) current status and to avoid any slander.
"I hereby represent my friend by issuing a statement (with her permission). For your information, they were legally divorced six months ago.
"With the question already answered, I ask everyone to give my friend some space," wrote an individual believed to be a good friend of Irma.
The statement also mentioned that Irma was doing well with her children and that she would be performing the Hajj soon.
"Alhamdulillah, she and the children are okay and healthy. Alhamdulillah, God has blessed us with something better and more beautiful.
"God willing, she will perform the Hajj soon. Please pray for my friend. Thank you all."
Earlier, Redza raised questions when he wrote about his new journey as a husband with a woman named Nur Hafiza Mohd Salim.
Before this, there were allegations that Irma and Redza's marriage was on the rocks after there were hardly any photos of them together posted online since August 2023.
Irma, however, reportedly kept quiet about the issue and only said that she was doing well.
However, efforts to get an official statement from Irma regarding the news of the divorce were unsuccessful.
Irma and Redza got married in 2012 and have two children together.
