KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Eyra Hazali has revealed that a relative of hers was one of the victims killed in an accident involving two military helicopters at the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) base in Lumut, Perak this morning.

The 25-year-old artiste, whose full name is Hazirah Qasdina Hazali, took to social media to share the unfortunate news in a post today.

"Al-fatihah to all involved in the helicopter crash.

"One of the victims is my cousin's husband, Lieutenant Commander Wan Rezauden Kamal bin Wan Zainal Abidin," she wrote.

The mother of two and wife of national footballer, Haziq Nadzli, added: "May their souls be placed among the righteous."

It was earlier reported that the RMN had confirmed that ten navy personnel were killed when two Malaysian Armed Forces helicopters collided mid-air at the RMN base.

The helicopters, an Agusta Westland AW139 and a Eurcopter Fennec, were believed to have crashed in a mid-air collision over the base during a mid-air manoeuvre.

Following the mid-air collision, the AW139 HOM helicopter carrying a crew of seven crashed at the steps of the Navy Stadium while the Fennec carrying a crew of three crashed near the pool of the Navy Sports Complex.

It is understood that both helicopters were undergoing formation training in conjunction with the RMN 90th Anniversary celebrations.
