KUALA LUMPUR: "Don't take it too seriously. I'm not even angry."

That was Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza's explanation for a video clip that has been heavily circulating on social media since Monday.

Netizens were speculating that the usually calm and compsed songbird was angry and showing her displeasure in the short clip as she was preparing to walk on stage during her Konsert Sebuah Epitome: Saya Siti Nurhaliza show at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, last month.

Siti took to IG to share an explanation on the matter yesterday.

She said that only those involved in the performance would know what was happening, especially concerning the technical aspects.

"I didn't expect that the backstage moments during the recording of Konsert Sebuah Epitome - Saya Siti Nurhaliza would get this amount of attention and be made into news to be shared far and wide.

"Someone said I was angry (her reaction and facial expressions in the video were without sound). Don't take it seriously, you know, I'm not even angry.

"That's my worried or anxious face, you can just see it for a few seconds. The LED was going to open and I had to begin singing. Imagine if the 'ear monitor' I was using wasn't turned on.

"Ear monitors are very important for a singer to hear the voice and music," she said.

Siti also uploaded the full version of the video to avoid any further speculation.

"I allowed the video to be broadcast by Astro because I know there are fans who want to watch the happenings behind the stage.

"I'm not even angry. That's the tone of my voice that wants to make sure my 'ear monitor' is turned on immediately. I then walk professionally to the front of the stage to entertain the audience," she said.
