KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Datin Seri Nina Juren Haniff denies that she uses her title in order to get a higher paycheck.

In a news report today, the 53-year-old actress said many had assumed that she either demanded higher acting pay or was no longer interested in acting as she is currently a 'Datin Seri'.

"I received that title because of my husband. When I'm on a film set, I'm just like everyone else," said Nina who stayed away from the industry after becoming a mother.

Nina married Datuk Seri Mohd Ibrahim Mohd Nor in 2002 after being in the industry for almost a decade.

She returned to the limelight by appearing in the film Romeo Kota in 2015.

"My children are all grown up now, so I decided to go back into acting," shared Nina who was grateful that there was still a place for her in the industry.

Nina also said that she had no issues with regards to her acting fee.

"So far, there's nothing to complain about. I think I'm paid what I'm worth as an actress.

"Everyone has their own value. For me, if you think you're being offered a ridiculously low wage, then you have the choice to refuse."
