KUALA LUMPUR: V of international K-pop sensation BTS will be releasing a new single on March 15.

The release date of the single, titled FRI(END)S, was announced in an Instagram Story from BTS' official account recently.

The new track will be a witty and romantic pop R&B number sung entirely in English.

It also featured artwork which saw a smashed old iPhone with a song playing on it that read 'The End' along with the song title against a bright pink backdrop.

BTS' music label Big Hit Music explained that the artwork's pink background hinted at the 'sweet mood' of the song, according to a recent Billboard report.

The popular male music group's fans known as Army had speculated on a new release from V following the release of a brief teaser posted on BTS' Instagram reels on Saturday.

It featured lo-fi camera footage of a series of random clips that included V having dinner and walking outside at night.

V, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, is currently carrying out his mandatory military service in the South Korean army along with the other six members of BTS until their expected return next year.

Previously, the 28-year-old idol had teased that he had been working on a few projects in advance that would be released during his time in the army.
