KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer and actress Siti Nordiana Alias is not about to tie the knot, despite her social media page's week-long gimmick showing photos of her dressed in white and holding a bouquet of flowers.
"No, I'm not about to tie the knot with Mr Right. Instead, I'm reaffirming my vow to the music and entertainment industry which I've been 'married' to for a good 25 years.
"My big day will be May 11, the day of my 25th anniversary concert with romantic love as its theme," she said at a press conference to announce Konsert Memori Berkasih Siti Nordiana 25 Tahun today.
The press conference was held at Zebra Square, Jalan Kampung Pandan and also attended by the concert's director Mike Manicka.
Konsert Memori Berkasih which marks Siti Nordiana's 25th anniversary as a recording artiste is organised by Icon Entertainment and will be held for two hours beginning 8.30pm at Zepp KL in Jalan Hang Tuah.
Siti Nordiana, 39, said: "I am dedicating this concert, my very first solo one, to all romantic couples who love music.
"This means I'm encouraging all guests to come with their loved ones dressed in their favourite outfits which reflect their most memorable of times, for example during their first dates."
Siti Nordiana added that she will perform 20 to 25 songs in the concert, and her guests would have lots of sing-along opportunities.
"There will also be a guest artiste or two, but I'll only reveal them closer to the date of the concert," she said.
Siti Nordiana, who planned the concert last year, also said that the date of May 11 was "meaningful and symbolic" for all Malaysians.
"May is the fifth month and the number five represents the five principles of Rukunegara, while 11 represents the two pillars of the nation namely Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia!" she said, adding that winning Gegar Vaganza 2 in 2015 encouraged her to have a solo concert.
Mike said that fans would be "thoroughly entertained" by Siti Nordiana as she plans to sing all of her best known songs, such as Bukan Mengungkit Tapi Membangkit, Tak Upaya Menangis Lagi and Satukan Rasa.
"Siti Nordiana is a household name because she is not only a singer, but a friend to all her fans. Her sweet and unassuming ways have endeared her to Malaysians of all ages, and her ability to master various music genres such as ballads, pop songs, Asli songs and even spiritual songs have made her an artiste who is always in demand," he said, adding that Siti Nordiana had also proven herself as a good actress in teleivsion dramas such as Dia Semanis Honey.
Mike added that Siti Nordiana will be backed by seven musicians and Johan Shamsudin will be the concert's music director.
Siti Nordiana, who was born in Seremban, began her singing career at the age of 15 in 1999 and released her debut album Gurindam Rindu Berkasih that year.
She subsequently became popular as the duet partner of the late singer Achik (Abdillah Murad Shari) of Spin in the 2000s.
Their musical partnership as Achik & Nana ended with his death in a car accident in 2010.
Siti Nordiana has seven albums to her credit, and has won Popular Female Artiste in Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian thrice.
She was married to the late actor Faizal Yusuf from 2005 to 2009 and has a 15-year-old son Muhammad Rayyan Nakhaie.
Tickets for the concert are priced between RM188 and RM4,888 and will be available at www.ticket2u.com beginning Friday.
