GENTING HIGHLANDS: Australian soft rock duo Air Supply serenaded 4,800 fans during a live concert at the Arena of Stars here, tonight.
The popular music act which formed in 1975 performed 14 of its classic songs that included Sweet Dreams, The One That You Love, Every Woman In The World, Even The Nights Are Better, Chances, Goodbye, I Can Wait Forever, Two Less Lonely People In The World, The One That You Love, Making Love Out Of Nothing At All and Lost in Love.
Founding members Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock proved they were still capable of taking music fans down memory lane with their vocal performances despite being in their early seventies.
"We take nothing for granted. We're so grateful that you took the time to join us tonight. Bless you," said Hitchcock before belting out Here I Am.
British singer-songwriter Russell, who also played guitar, and Australian lead singer Hitchcock were in Malaysia as part of the duo's 48th anniversary Lost In Love Experience tour.
The two were backed by a 4-member band, made up of a guitarist, bassist, keyboard player and drummer, that provided solid rhythmic and melodic accompaniment to their mellifluous and moving vocal work.
Russell also recited his poem, Am I, and had a solo guitar segment where he sang the song We Are All Children.
"We've been here before. It's always a great pleasure to be in Malaysia once more.
"Tonight we are yours but in return you are ours. Is that okay?" said Russell to raucous applause from the crowd.
The 2-hour concert, organised by Resorts World Genting, also saw the duo performing their hit cover versions of Rod Hegel's Just As I Am and Badfinger's Without You.
"Thank you so much for helping us to continue on this most amazing journey," said Hitchcock.
Air Supply provided the audience with a memorable end to the concert by performing one of its most recognisable hits, All Out Of Love, during the encore session.
The duo are scheduled to perform in Hong Kong and Taiwan next before the end of the year.
