KUALA LUMPUR: The award-winning KLPAC Symphonic Band wraps up its 2023 season with a heart-warming Childhood Revisited concert at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre's Pentas 1 from tomorrow till 19.

Held in conjunction with Children's Day on Nov 20, the band led by Cheryl Mah will take audience members back to their childhood and teenage years with a string of familiar family-friendly tunes.

Childhood Revisited features music from local favourites like Upin & Ipin to international fare with songs from Pokemon, Super Mario Bros and Angry Birds.

A highlight will be a medley of songs from hit TV series like The Simpsons, The Nanny, The X-Files, The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air and Friends, specially-arranged by Yeo Chow Shern.

The band is proud to premiere a new commissioned piece by Lim Yu-Yao entitled Buaian Kenangan, a lovely depiction of growing up in Malaysia, as part of its continued efforts to showcase Malaysian composers.

Forty members will be representing Malaysia at the 2023 Chiayi International Band Festival in Taiwan from Dec 15 to 20.

Not only will they be featured as part of the opening ceremony, they will be performing a full concert and joining various other exchange programmes too.

The 85-minute concert, with a 15-minute intermission, is recommended for music fans aged 3 and above.
