KUALA LUMPUR: Due to his popularity and still a very much relevant artiste today, Datuk Jamal Abdillah has been chosen to lead a charity performance to be held in Seremban, Negri Sembilan next month.
In a news report today, the 64-year-old Malaysia's King of Pop, is slated to perform at Kaseh PLG Charity Dinner & Mini Concert that will be staged at Royale Chulan Seremban on Dec 22.
Project director Norhalim Norsip said: "His status as the country's King of Pop and popularity is a definite attraction for this event."
Norhalim added that the choice of location outside Klang Valley was simply giving music fans from the southern peninsula a closer venue, besides making it a little different for the event.
"Half of the net profit from table sales will be channelled to a tahfiz centre and few NGOs and a portion from the remaining would be donated to the Palestinian Aid Fund, as a show of solidarity for the Palestinians in Gaza," added Norhalim.
Besides Jamal, other singers lined up for the mini concert are Datuk Nash, Azlan (of Azlan & The Typewriter), and Eka Sharif.
