KUALA LUMPUR: Classic Disney tunes will be brought to life in a concert featuring the largest flute ensemble in Malaysia at KLPAC here from June 3 to 4.
Titled A Magical Adventure, the show will see the CGFA Flute Choir made up of 30 flautists performing well-loved tracks such as When You Wish Upon A Star from Pinocchio, the iconic Mickey Mouse March theme song and Alan Menken's Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid.
More recent hits will also be performed such as Aladdin, Mulan and Beauty And The Beast, as well as the chart-topping How Far I'll Go from Moana.
Presented by the Birdian Saxophone Quartet and KLPAC, the flute concert will be conducted by Chew Sze Gee.
She completed all her degrees majoring in flute, including a Diploma in Music from the Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA), a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (ASWARA) and a Master of Music in Performance Studies from UCSI University.
As a flautist, Chew performed in various events such as UBUNTU 2022 & 2021 as a guest soloist and ASWARA Symphony Orchestra's Time To Fly Concert 2019 as a concerto soloist.
Her involvement in ensemble playing include performing with the KLPAC Symphonic Band (as section leader), the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the Asteri Flute Quartet (leader) and many more.
Following her focus on music education, Chew founded the CG Flute Academy and CGFA Flute Choir, the first large community flute choir in the city centre, last year.
