KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong Cantopop star Eason Chan Yik Shun mesmerised about 10,000 Malaysian fans during his three-hour concert at the Axiata Arena, here in Bukit Jalil.

In the 8.30pm concert, the singer-actor who is known for his colourful suits, curly hair and well-choreographed performances, sang more than 25 of his Cantonese and Mandarin hit songs non-stop which gave the audience a lot of sing-along opportunities.

Tonight (May 12) marks the first night of his three-day Fear And Dreams World Tour 2023.

"It's so great to sing in Kuala Lumpur once again after five years. Malaysia is home to some of my strongest fans, and I always remind myself not to miss it," said the 48-year-old singer.

Chan last sang in Malaysia in 2016, at Another Eason's Life which was held at the Arena Of Stars in Genting Highlands.

Chan has won several Golden Melody Awards throughout his illustrious career.

In 2003, he won Best Mandarin Male Singer and Best Mandarin Album for Special Thanks To and in 2009, he won Best Mandarin Album for Don't Want To Let Go.

Chan won his second Best Mandarin Male Singer award in 2015, for the album Rice And Shine.

In 2018, Chan was named Best Mandarin Male Singer for the third time.

Chan was the most-streamed artiste in Hong Kong on Spotify music from 2016 to 2020.

His best known songs from 47 studio albums include Unconditional, Heavy Taste and Finish.

Chan plays the piano, the guitar, the harmonica, and the accordion, apart from being a songwriter.
