KUALA LUMPUR: 'Not many know I have 23 siblings. Growing up, life was difficult as we came from a poor family," said actress-turned-entrepreneur Wawa Zainal.
The 31-year-old artiste shared this recently at a product launch of her beauty product brand Wawa Cosmetics.
In a video shared by a TikTok user whose account name is ril_glamrs, Wawa said that since life was hard then, it was very rare for her family to eat dishes cooked using chicken meat and even eggs.
"Two to three siblings had to share an egg to eat," said Wawa who was holding back her tears remembering her difficult childhood growing up in Lahad Datu, Sabah.
Determined to change her family's economic status, she decided to try her luck as an actress and moved to Kuala Lumpur.
Her acting debut was in 2011 drama titled Ana Lu'lu.
Wawa married actor Aeril Zafrel in 2013 and the couple has four children.
In 2016, together with her husband, she dabbled in business by selling contact lenses and by 2018 she founded Wawa Cosmetics.
