KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Elyana Emrizal who is currently cancer-free after battling stage 4 lymphoma cancer for the past 11 years is happy to spend quality time with her children.
The 35-year-old artiste better known as Elyana, intends to build happy memories together with her two daughters.
"I've spent 22 years of being involved in this industry and I've done my fair share of work.
"Now is the time for me to form good memories with my kids. I don't want them to grow up remembering only the painful stories of my condition," she said in a recent news report.
Talking about her music career, Elyana said: "There's nothing for me to chase anymore. I want to be happy, healthy and at peace."
Although diagnosed much earlier, Elyana only publicly revealed her battle with the Big C in 2017, after she was booted out on the fifth week of reality programme Gegar Vaganza S4.
The Tak Tercapai Akalmu singer also revealed that her doctor initially told her she had only about a year longer to live.
However, Elyana shared the good news that she was cancer-free on Dec 8 last year.
"All this while, people have been telling me to be patient since every challenge would surely reveal a rainbow at the end of it.
"This matter has happened to me. This is the rainbow that I have been waiting for.
"There was a time before this that I did not hope to get well anymore, but just to be strong enough to carry on," she said.
Elyana is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment to ensure that the cancer cells do not return.
The singer married Khairul Anuar Husin in 2010 and the couple have a 12-year-old daughter, Cinta Sumayyah, together, as well as an adopted child, Cahaya Ramadhani, who is 3.
