KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Celine Dion has cancelled the remaining of her Courage World Tour for North America which had already been rescheduled between April 9 and 22, due to her ongoing health issues.

USA Today recently reported that the 53-year-old artiste had earlier received treatment for "severe and persistent muscle spasms" that previously prevented her from singing, and which she was still recovering.

The remaining North American leg of her tour had originally been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic but is now cancelled altogether.

Prior to the onset of the pandemic in March 2020, she had already completed 52 shows.

"I was really hoping that I'd be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regiment that my doctors are prescribing," said Dion.

"I'll be so glad to get back to full health, as well as all of us getting past this pandemic, and I can't wait to be back on stage again."

Dion is also expected to begin the Europe leg of the "Courage" tour in May.

Last October the French-Canadian artiste postponed her Las Vegas residency due to muscle spasms which she said prevented her from doing rehearsals.
