KUALA LUMPUR: Unfazed by the sudden popularity after receiving Best Supporting Actor award at the recent 79th Golden Globe Awards ceremony, South Korean actor Oh Young-soo of Squid Game fame has refused to be interviewed by the media.

The JoongAng reported that the 77-year-old artiste has a simple reason for turning down the interviews.

"I can't because I have a play (theatre) tomorrow," he said.

Because of his response, several netizens lauded him for remaining humble despite winning a Golden Globe and creating history as the first South Korean artiste to bag a trophy at the prestigious ceremony.

Interestingly, after the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the winners, Oh made his acceptance speech via Netflix, noting that he was speechless and expressed his deep gratitude to his family and everyone who supported Squid Game.
