KUALA LUMPUR: Popular celebrity Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor's recent IG Story featuring a picture of a burger has been misinterpreted as a sarcastic mockery towards a burger seller in Kota Baru, Kelantan who was compounded RM50,000 by the police for flouting the MCO SOP by operating beyond the 10pm limit.

The alleged picture, accompanied by the caption, "moreh burger malam ni meh", had Netizen's speculating that the successful entrepreneur was diverting attention away from her own offenses.

The image was apparently uploaded after Neelofa had released a statement yesterday revealing that she, her husband and family members had been slapped with compound fines totalling RM60,000 for defying Covid-19 SOP. It has since been deleted.

Neelofa then posted another IG Story to clear the air and announce her intention to help the affected trader.

"Oh God, many have misunderstood the situation and expected the worst. Before I uploaded the picture, my lawyer had already been in contact with the Abang Burger.

"We have also talked to the police to ask about the compound fine issued to him.

"I had requested to help with the payment, by the Grace of God," she wrote in an IG Story.

It was reported yesterday that the wife of Wan Mohd Faisal, Norlaili, had verified receiving a call from Neelofa's lawyer at 5.30pm with regards to having their heavy fine paid off by the former Meletop host.
