KUALA LUMPUR: Hollywood superstar Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has become the most followed American man after garnering over 200 million followers on Instagram.
The 48-year-old producer, businessman and former WWE icon took to social media today to celebrate the milestone.
He tweeted: "I'm so humbled by this massive tidal wave of support as we surge past 200 million. #1 most followed man in America. #1 most followed American man in the world. Love you guys and I always got your back."
On Instagram, Johnson posted a video where he thanked his legion of fans for their undying support and shared a lesson he learnt during the past few weeks.
In the caption, he wrote: "Here's what I've learned these past few weeks and maybe, you can find value in this take away and apply it to your own life. Always speak your truth."
"And when you do speak your truth — do your best to speak with dignity, compassion, respect, poise and empathy.
"Even when the conversations get uncomfortable — when you approach with respect and care — on the other side of discomfort — is clarity and progress," he added.
The hunky celebrity was also grateful to fans for giving him the space to speak his truth.
"You have my word, I'll always do my best to speak my truth with dignity, respect, empathy and GRATITUDE."
He ended it with, "And most importantly, the #1 daddy at home. Love you guys, I always got your back and let's keep rockin'."
The post has so far received over 4.7 million views with many congratulating the star on his success and positive outlook.
Aside from Johnson, it was previously reported that Portugal and Juventus football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo sits at the top spot with a whopping 238 million followers on his Instagram account.
American popstar Ariana Grande has the most followers for women with 203 million.
