KUALA LUMPUR: Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt has been diagnosed with the Big C.

According to Hindustantimes yesterday, a news report quoted sources at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai that the 61-year-old celebrity had been detected with the final stage of lung cancer.

Prior to the report, Dutt announced on his Twitter that he would be taking a break to seek medical treatment.

He however, didn't disclose any detail of the treatment he was down for, sending fans and media to speculate.

Dutt tweeted: "Hi friends, I am taking a short break from work for some medical treatment. My family and friends are with me and I urge my well-wishers not to worry or unnecessarily speculate. With your love and good wishes, I will be back soon!"

The actor, was rushed to the hospital on Saturday after he complained of breathlessness, but discharged on Monday, after he was found negative of Covid-19.

However, he was found positive after going through check-up for lung cancer.

The news report added that Dutt will be going to the United States for his cancer treatment.
