AFTER releasing the EP Love Yourself: Her last September, fans are waiting eagerly for uber popular South Korean boy band BTS to release its second installment of the Love Yourself series.

In a news report from Soompi, Suga and RM from the seven-member K-Pop group gave some insight into what fans could expect.

Rapper Suga revealed that the band members had been focusing on one potential concept.

“The concept that we discussed while we were on tour last year was happiness. What is happiness and what do we need to do to become happy?”

He said: “I believe that it’s impossible to achieve happiness just by trying to be happy as we should make an effort to become happier.”

He said many people were interested to discuss about happiness whenever they brought up the subject.

“It is something that we need to study and figure out. I have spent a lot of time thinking about what happiness really is and what you need to do to achieve it. I don’t think anyone ever teaches you that.”

His band mate, RM, said he was interested to combine happiness with the “Love Yourself” theme.

“During a recent trip to Japan, I read a newspaper column that said humans can never get the happiness they desire. It said that once we reach one goal, we end up yearning for something else.”

The 23-year-old leader of the group said the article mirrored his personal experience.

He said: “We thought that if we won first place on the music chart, we would be happy. But, there’s always another goal to strive for.”

He said he would like to search for a conclusion to the band’s Love Yourself series.

“My dream is not to win first place on the Billboard chart, but, instead, to love myself properly. I want to find a way to love myself more.”

RM also hinted that the next album could have a darker vibe.

“I think there’s a lot to be said on the subject of loving yourself, including exploring the ideas of darkness and loneliness.”
