In June, global apparel retailer Uniqlo launched its Peace for All charity T-shirt project.

It enlisted support from world-renowned figures in the areas of art, design, literature, science, and sports who are aligned with the project's aim, to come up with T-shirts carrying their unique designs which expressed the desire for peace.

The first collection of five charity T-shirts, part of the UT (Uniqlo T-shirt) brand, was released worldwide in June. It gained tremendous support via purchases made by customers. Ten new designs were then launched a month later.

Proceeds from the global sales of the Peace for All UTs were recently presented to organisations that provide humanitarian aid to those affected by poverty, discrimination, violence, conflict, and natural disasters: the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency; Save the Children; and Plan International.

The funds raised from the Peace for All T-shirt sale will benefit those in need.

The donation of 145,314,300 yen was proportioned to these three international organisations. The funds will aid UNHCR in providing protection, shelter, and other forms of assistance such as health care and education to displaced and stateless people worldwide.

Save The Children will utilise the donation to support children in need who are in difficult situations; for a wide range of activities including establishing 'Child Friendly Spaces' to provide opportunities for children, providing mental health and psychosocial support, and more.

The funds received by Plan International, on the other hand, will be used to help girls under 18 years of age who are forced to marry against their will, deprived of educational and other opportunities, or subject to violence or abuse, and to prevent early (child) marriage.
