MAKING music videos is not an easy task, and normally involves a lot of heavy equipment. However, Olivia Rodrigo, the youngest artist in US Hot 100 history to debut three hits at No. 1, has embraced the smartphone technology to capture the essence of her latest music video, "get him back!".

In this case, she's managed to use the newly launched iPhone 15 Pro for creating her latest music video. With powerful camera capabilities, USB-C connectivity, and support for industry standards like ACES, the new iPhones have opened up new creative possibilities for filmmakers and content creators to enjoy the benefits of new pro workflows like ProRes recording directly to an external drive up to 4K 60fps.

One of the new features is that the iPhone 15 Pro now enables Log encoding, offering more range and flexibility for visual effects and colour grading in post production. It's also the first smartphone in the world to support ACES — Academy Color Encoding System — a global colour standard for major movie productions.

Last week Olivia spoke with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 about the origin of "get him back!", saying: "We wrote a song that I didn't like and I had a total breakdown. I was like, "God, I can't write songs. I'm so bad at this. I don't want to," whatever, being really negative. Then we took a break and we came back and we wrote "get him back", and it's one of my favorite songs. So just goes to show you, just never give up. Yeah, super fun to write. I really like the chorus. It feels sticky to me and it feels like something that I would want a crowd to sing."

Rodrigo recently released her sophomore album GUTS via Geffen Records. The 20-year-old is the youngest artist in Hot 100 history to debut three hits at No 1 "get him back!" is the fun and energetic current focus track from the album, now with corresponding music video filmed entirely on iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Director Jack Begert says "For this video, we're doing a lot of advanced camera moves to create energy. I was impressed with the quality of the footage," and "hearing about the 5x zoom on iPhone 15 Pro Max made me really excited."

Meanwhile, director of photography Xiao "X" Liu notes that, "It takes a lot of time on set to switch lenses between shots, but iPhone 15 Pro has seven lenses in one package, including a new 5x zoom on iPhone 15 Pro Max. With just a few taps on the screen, I save time and get what I need in sharp resolution."

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max offer creative users powerful camera upgrades, giving them the equivalent of seven pro lenses with incredible image quality, including a new super high-resolution 24MP default on the 48MP Main camera, the next generation of portraits with Focus and Depth Control, improvements to Night mode and Smart HDR, and an all-new 5x Telephoto camera on iPhone 15 Pro Max.
