KUALA LUMPUR: Samsung Electronics Co Ltd has unveiled its fifth generation of Galaxy foldables - the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5.
These cutting-edge devices promised unique experiences with sleek designs, countless customisation options, and powerful performance.
At the heart of these foldable devices is the new Flex Hinge, a marvel of engineering that made the seamless foldable experience possible.
According to Samsung, the hinge not only allowed the devices to transform between phone and tablet modes but also added to their elegant aesthetics. With durable materials like Armor Aluminum frames and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus applied to the screens, the Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 were designed to withstand the rigours of daily life.
Refining the experience
In a grand unveiling event in Seoul, Samsung Electronics' president and Head of Mobile eXperience Business, TM Roh, said that the company is revolutionising the mobile industry with foldables by setting the standard and continually refining the experience. He emphasised their commitment to customer needs through innovative technology.
The Galaxy Z Flip5 stole the show with its stylish and compact design. The new Flex Window, significantly larger than the previous generation, offered a myriad of customisation options. Users could personalise their Flex Window design and case design with the Flipsuit Case, which also provided device protection and came with a changeable NFC card.
Even when closed, the Galaxy Z Flip5 offered an array of functionalities through the Flex Window. Users could access widgets for weather updates, music playback, stock market updates, and more. Quick Reply with a full QWERTY keyboard allowed users to respond to messages on-the-go. Additionally, Samsung Wallet provided a seamless experience for on-the-go payments, QR codes, boarding passes, and more.
Camera
The camera capabilities of the Galaxy Z Flip5 are great too. Thanks to the larger Flex Window, users now could take high-quality selfies using the rear camera. FlexCam enabled users to capture creative and hands-free photos from various angles.
The AI-powered improvements enhanced photography even in low-light conditions, and the digital 10X zoom brought distant objects closer.
Productivity tool
On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold5 is hailed as the ultimate productivity powerhouse. Its large and immersive 7.6-inch Main Screen allowed users to enjoy movies, gaming, and work in both portrait and landscape modes. The improved Taskbar and two-handed drag-and-drop features made multitasking more efficient than ever.
The Fold5's productivity tools also include the S Pen Fold Edition, providing a superior writing experience. The Slim S Pen Case added convenience and style, allowing users to carry their S Pens with elegance.
With the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, gaming on the Galaxy Z Fold5 becomes a truly immersive experience. The device's advanced cooling system ensuree smooth gameplay without any performance drops.
