KUALA LUMPUR: Shopee has recently partnered with Agoda, Airpaz, and Easybook.com to reunite families this Chinese New Year with the CNY Travel Campaign from Jan 26, 2022.

Shopee Malaysia's head of marketing campaigns, Kenneth Soh said that Malaysians are keen on travelling safely from the number of mask demand and ShopeePay Vouchers for Covid-19 test kits.

"It is encouraging to see the recovery of the travel industry on Shopee as people start to make travel plans again. We will continue to work closely with our travel partners to provide a seamless, safe, and stress-free booking experience for flights, buses, and hotels on our platform so Malaysians will have a memorable and enjoyable reunion this Chinese New Year," he said.

Via the partnership, Malaysians can book with a 10 per cent discount (capped at RM20) for bus tickets, hotel or flight bookings through the Tickets, Top-Ups & Bills in-app portal on Shopee.

According to Shopee, those who booked within the campaign period will get to win the grand prize of a 3D/2N stay at Camar Langkawi Resort with RM250 Flights Voucher through a lucky draw. Tips for safe travelling are included in the microsite campaign.

Airpaz's vice president of business development, Wesley Wijaya said that there's an increase in the number of air travel bookings on both its platforms and Shopee in January 2022 compared to last year.

"We are expecting a positive rebound as people are now more confident in travelling given the increase in vaccination rate, and reopening of travel routes. We hope that air travel will fully recover by the end of 2022," he said.

Meanwhile, Easybook.com's managing director, William Lee bus bookings have increased for Chinese New Year with top destinations being Penang, Perak, KL, and Johor with more demand on Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL).

Agoda Malaysia & Brunei's country director, Cleland Robertson said "Travel optimism and hope is returning this Lunar New Year, and travellers can find some great value deals on our platform This partnership makes travel even more accessible, and as seamless and hassle-free as possible,"

Shopee also announced the Shopee CNY Sale from Feb 2 with free shipping for a minimum spend of RM8, 88 per cent off Bonus for users to get 88 per cent discount vouchers on CNY products and win RM8,888 Ang Pow on a daily Shopee Live session's Shopee Fortune Quiz at 8 p.m.

Also, from Jan18 to Feb 7, ShopeePay users who transfer a minimum amount of RM2.88 to their families and friends via the e-Ang Pow feature will get to win up to 8,888 Shopee coins.

Users who use ShopeePay at selected merchants will also get RM8 cashback with 12 per cent coins cashback and win up to 88,888 Shopee coins for a minimum top-up of RM30 into the ShopeePay wallet.
