UNIVERSITI Tunku Abdul Rahman Danny Tse Wei Chun made UTAR and Malaysia proud when he beat 65,000 other contestants from all over the world to win the championship at the Adobe Certified Associate (ACA) World Championship held online from Nov 16 to 18, 2021. Tse received US$7,000 (RM28,800) cash prize together with a trophy and certificate.

Tse is a digital animation graduate from UTAR Faculty of Creative Industries. In the final round of the competition, all the finalists were given a period of six hours to come up with three marketing asset designs and were marked based on visual appeal, ability to meet the client's requirements, brand aesthetics, as well as their professional usage of Adobe Creative Cloud applications.

Tse was chosen as the victor among 51 finalists for his outstanding ability to creatively deliver the message through digital illustrations for the non-profit client – Limbitless Solutions, a US-based bionics manufacturer.

UTAR's dean of Faculty of Creative Industries, Dr David Tneh Cheng Eng said the university is very proud of Danny Tse's achievement in the Adobe World Championship.

"This win is a testament of his creative, digital, and problem-solving skills. Tse has always been a proactive student and he was also the founder of the Media & Digital Animation Society," he said.

The ACA World Championship, presented by Certiport Inc, is a global competition that tests students' design skills using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Top students were invited to represent their respective countries at the World Championship where they    create a designated design project for Certiport's chosen non-profit client. In some countries or regions, students are required to participate in a National Championship, and the winners of that event proceed on to participate in the World Championship.
