KUALA LUMPUR: After its launch in China, Malaysia has taken the honour as the first country to flaunt the new Honor 50 that supports the Google Mobile Services and other features for fans to enjoy.

Honor Malaysia's chief executive officer, Justin Li said "Today marks not only Honor's first return to Malaysia since turning independent but also the media launch of Honor."

"Honor's market share of reaching 16.2 per cent in China in August this year fuels our confidence for its global success," he said.

Camera capabilities

The Honor 50 amps up vlogging experience with the new 32 megapixel front camera for seamless selfies, the 108 megapixel main camera, 8 megapixel wide-angle camera, a 2 megapixel macro camera, and a 2 megapixel depth camera.

With an added six multi-video shooting modes, the series delivers a great recording experience from various angles and perspectives as well as having high audio quality when vlogging.

Camera design

Available in Frost Crystal, Emerald Green, Midnight Black, and the limited edition of Honor Code.

Furthermore, the dual ring design resembles a pair of eyes while the classic ring designs are inspired to resemble lavishing jewelry while featuring a camera with a metal ring surrounding the edge.

Display

The Honor 50 features a 6.57-inch with a 75 degree curved OLED display with a Full HD+ in a 2340 x 1080 resolution.

With this display, gamers get to relish their time with the 1.07 billion colour display with 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut.

It also has a 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate for all avid gamers out there and they can manually adjust the refresh rate to save power consumption.

Battery life

The Honor 50 is powered up with the long-lasting 4300mAh battery and 66W Honor Wired SuperCharge that juices up from 0 to 70 per cent in 20 minutes.

To reduce the charging failure rate, Honor has implemented a triple identification to detect whether the charger, battery and cable is by Honor

It is also supported by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset that improves the CPU and GPU performance by 45 per cent and AI processing power by 123 per cent than before.

Also, it is powered by GPU Turbo X for great performance while gaming.

Price and availability

The Honor 50 that comes with 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage is priced at RM1,699 for both Midnight Black. It is available for online and offline purchases, while the limited-edition Honor Code is only available online.

Meanwhile, the 8 gigabyte RAM + 256 gigabyte storage version is priced at RM1,999 in Frost Crystal, Emerald Green, and Midnight Black and is available at uonline stores and Honor authorised stores.

Those who pre-ordered the Honor 50 from October 18 at 9 pm onwards get to enjoy rewards up to RM250 for the 6 gigabyte + 128 gigabyte version and RM500 for the 8 gigabyte + 256 gigabyte version.
